Julio Poletti. Bilingual Reporter (Spanish/English)
I’m a multimedia news reporter for Noticiero Telemundo Denver, a station that serves the Hispanic community around Denver and the state of Colorado.
As part of the Telemundo family, I work Monday thru Friday as a reporter covering the story of the day or breaking news for our 4:30 PM, 5 PM and 10 PM newscasts. Every Wednesday, I present a feature story that portrays Colorado’s most beautiful places and interesting people. This segment has been picked up and exposed by the Telemundo Network more than a dozen times.
Before joining Telemundo Denver, I worked as a Story Teller (content producer) for Reset TV 2013-2014 during the first season of Yo Soy El Artista. I was responsible for conducting interviews with contestants and judges. I generated story packages for the reality spin-of, and created network and social media promos. The reality show aired in Latin America by Telemundo International, and the signing competition aired on the Telemundo network, both in 2014.
From 2013-2014, I worked as a columnist and red-carpet reporter for Miami’s luxury publication, Venue Magazine. There, I wrote entertainment and lifestyle articles while interviewing influential people in the arts and music industries, such as Lubov Azria, the designer for BCBG and international artist, Peter Max. I was also the on-camera reporter for our red-carpet events, such as the bi-monthly cover parties, fund raisers, and most importantly, Premios Juventud Awards (youthfulness awards) by Univision.
I attended Sam Houston State University (SHSU) in Huntsville, Texas from 2010-2012. I was privileged to have been chosen as the Spanish news anchor back to back every year. I was awarded “Best Male On-Camera” and “Best Show Overall: Spanish News” in 2012 by SHSU, competing against all other newscasts and shows airing on KHSU7 that year. The Miss Sam Houston pageant in Huntsville, Texas honored me as the official pageant emcee in 2012. The Technical Image Press Association awarded me “Second Place” for my bilingual demo in 2013 for my contributions to KSHU7.
I received a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis on Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Spanish.
I earned a marketing certification by the American Management Association in New York City in 2012.
On my days off, I love to enjoy everything that the state of Colorado has to offer. I like hiking the many trails, snowboarding in the winter and mountain biking with my friends and family. I’m a very curious and creative individual always feeling the urge to get out of my comfort zone and explore new places. Did I mention I love horseback riding?
